Forest Measuring Stations

Since 1991, the impact of air pollutants and the effects of climate change on forests have been investigated at the 15 Thuringian forest and main measuring stations. In addition to the influence of meteorological parameters, the soil moisture and the type and strength of substance inputs are regularly evaluated with precipitation. The annual assessment of the health status of the trees is also part of the measuring programme, as well as growth measurements, soil status and nutrient supply studies, vegetation surveys and forest sources studies.
