In 2023, automatic transmission motorcycles or scooters were the most popular type of motorcycle sold in the Philippines, among the members of the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association (MDPPA). Unit sales for this type of vehicle amounted to over 993,000 units. In addition, about 27,000 mopeds were sold in that year. Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association is a four-member association of local motorcycle brands: Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha.
