资源简介:
TEST 13L is the second part of the first experiment we run in the large scale 9m radius centrifuge at UC Davis. At the end of test 12L we removed the clayey levee and we replaced it with a sandy levee. This process involved several days and led to a different configuration of the model. The records of this stage could not be cataloged under the same folder of the former stage. The objective of TEST 13L was to investigate the seismic performance of the typical sandy levee on top of a peat layer we encounter in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The model was spun to 57 g modeling a prototype scale 5 m levee atop 11 m of peat. A single moderate motion was applied to the model when 57 g were reached. Technical issues related to a failure of the discharging valve and the insufficient deformability of the spillway led prevent the model to maintain the body of water only on one side as depicted in the drawing. The report discusses in detail the setup and the outcomes.
