资源简介:
This series consists of the records of the Main Committee of the Victorian Electrolysis Committee (VA 5651). The records contain meeting minutes and papers, reports, correspondence, and other technical documents considered by the Main Committee. It also contains reference and research material from around the world about electrolysis mitigation. The VEC was established on 30 September 1927 to manage and mitigate the effects of electrolysis corrosion on buried post and telegraph lines owned by the Postmaster-General, which claimed that railway and tramway infrastructure was causing the electrolysis. Electrolysis is the effect of stray electrical currents that cause corrosion to buried metal structures. The VEC was tasked with managing the electrolysis issue in a consultative engineering manner without legally binding regulations. In 1927 the Technical Sub-Committee of the VEC was also established to handle field operations at the direction of the members of the Main Committee. Their records are found in VPRS 21041 Technical Sub-Committee Records.
