Urban mixtures of non-essential trace metal elements affect the behaviour and stress levels of a passerine bird in a laboratory experiment

68 male adults zebra finches were followed for 65 days in order to look for physiological and behavioral effects of 3 different mixture containing Trace Metal Elements at urban relevant does. The "Ctrl" (Control in the article) condition was exposed to bottled water only, the "ETMn" ("nTME alone" in the article) condition contained 5 mg.L-1 of As, 10 mg.L-1 of Pb and 1 mg.L-1 of Cd. The "low" ("nTME + low eTME" in the article) condition contained 5 mg.L-1 of As, 10 mg.L-1 of Pb, 1 mg.L-1 of Cd and 100 mg.L-1 of Zn, 24 mg.L-1 of Cu, 0.5 mg.L-1 of Ni. The "high" ("nTME + high eTME" in the article) condition contained 5 mg.L-1 of As, 10 mg.L-1 of Pb, 1 mg.L-1 of Cd and 200 mg.L-1 of Zn, 48 mg.L-1 of Cu, 1 mg.L-1 of Ni.
