To elucidate the mechanistic basis of the regenerative deficiency seen with clock disruption we undertook an unbiased approach with single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of epithelial and mesenchymal cells from Bmal1-/-, Bmal1creERT2/+, and their respective WT littermates Lungs from embryonic Bmal1-/-, Bmal1+/+ controls, Bmal1creERT2/+, and Bmal1creERT2neg littermates were dissected, and single-cell preparation was obtained as described above. Single cell suspension was sorted as DARQ7-CD31-CD45- lung cells
