Transcriptional response in ileum tissue from wild-type and Fat1+/- male mice

Males were placed onto an all liquid diet with gradually increasing amounts of ethanol as follows: no ethanol for 2 days, 1% (v/v) for 2 days, 2% for 2 days, 4% for 1 week, 5% for 1 week, and 6% for 3 weeks. At the end of the experiment, one group from each genotype was injected with 5 mg/kg LPS. Mice were then euthanized 24 hours later. Overall design: For the initial sequencing, a total of four conditions, with 3-5 replicates in each condition, were studied, including: Wild-type, pair-fed (WT-PF); Fat1+/-, pair-fed (Fat1+/- -PF); Wild-type, Ethanol-Fed (WT-EtOH); and Fat1+/-, Ethanol-Fed (Fat1+/- - EtOH).
