Supplementary Data for Bantan et al. (2026) "Foliar uptake of dissolved CO2: A distinct carbon acquisition pathway in crops"—pre-publication version
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the raw and processed stable-isotope data supporting Bantan et al., "Foliar uptake of dissolved CO₂: A distinct carbon acquisition pathway in crops." The study investigates whether terrestrial crop plants — lettuce (Lactuca sativa), tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), and cucumber (Cucumis sativus) — absorb and metabolically assimilate CO₂ from foliar-applied water. Plants were treated with ¹³C-labelled CO₂-infused water at varying concentrations (T25, T50, T75, T100), with surfactant-amended counterparts (ST25–ST100) and C0/C1 controls. δ¹³C was measured by EA-IRMS in whole shoot tissue (Experiments 1 and 2) and in extracted primary polar metabolites (Experiment 2). Files: Raw Isotope Data_Experiment 1_Bulk.xlsx — OEA Laboratories EA-IRMS report for Experiment 1 bulk shoot samples (per-sample δ¹³C VPDB, %C, calibration, QC). Raw Isotope Data_Experiment 2_Bulk.xlsx — OEA report for Experiment 2 bulk shoot samples. Raw Isotope Data_Experiment 2_Metabolites.xlsx — OEA report for Experiment 2 polar metabolite extracts. Master Data.xlsx — Two sheets (Bulk, Metabolites) compiling sample identifiers, treatments, fresh/dry weights, OEA-measured δ¹³C and %C, and derived quantities (atom fractions, ¹³C mass balance, excess ¹³C, uptake efficiency, Δδ¹³C) used to generate all figures and statistics in the manuscript.
