LaharDB - A global lahar (volcanic mudflow) database compiled from peer-reviewed scientific literature

Lahars (volcanic mudflows) are an important natural hazard. LaharDB is an initiative to compile a freely-available global database of lahar occurrence and characteristics from peer-reviewed scientific literature as a resource for lahar researchers. LaharDB1.0 is a dataset of lahar occurrence, volume and characteristics for 215 Quaternary (≤3 Ma) lahar events, compiled in 2015, which includes analysis of data completeness. Future versions of LaharDB will expand and refine the dataset.
