Hazardous waste receivers in the United States 2021, by state

Texas received the most hazardous waste from other U.S. states in 2021, at 649 thousand tons. This was closely followed by Ohio, which also received over 615 thousand tons of waste. Combined, these two states accounted for 20 percent of all received interstate hazardous waste that year. Texas was also the largest shipper of hazardous waste in the U.S. in 2021.
