Nitrogen fixation in low molybdenum Deming Lake

Deming Lake, Minnesota, USA is a meromictic lake characterized by ferruginous conditions and is used as an analog to the Precambrian Oceans. This collection of files encompasses environmental, experimental, metagenomic, and metatranscriptomic data relating to the investigation of molybdenum (Mo) limitation of nitrogen fixation in Deming Lake, Minnesota, USA. Environmental data includes dissolved Mo and iron (Fe) concentrations from August 2023 and May 2024 when nitrogen fixation experiments and sequencing were conducted. Experimental data includes raw data, metadata, and calculations from bottle incubation experiments using 15N2 gas which were conducted determine in situ nitrogen fixation rates as well as nitrogen fixation rates in response to Mo additions. The metagenome data included in this dataset are the metagenomic metabolism identifications and the calculated average coverage of metagenomes from August 2023. Lastly, data relating to the mapping of metatranscriptomic data to metagenomic data is included in this dataset.
