This dataset reports stable carbon (δ¹³C) and nitrogen (δ¹⁵N) isotope values and radiocarbon dates from bone collagen of nine humans and one sheep who died during the AD 79 Vesuvius eruption at Herculaneum. The data were used to investigate marine food consumption and its impact on radiocarbon dating. The dataset complements the IsoArcH foundational dataset (Salesse, 2015; DOI: 10.48530/isoarch.2015.001).
