The objective of this study was to determine the gene expression profile of rat hepatocytes grown on decellularized rat liver matrices as a function of time. Recellularized matrices were harvested 2, 15 and 28 days after cell seeding for gene expression analysis. Three or four matrices were collected at each time point. Four normal cadaveric rat livers were collected as reference, and four separate isolations of hepatocytes were also collected as an additional reference.
