This study integrated the Expectation-Confirmation Model of Information Systems and the Technology Acceptance Model with four contextual factors salient to China’s smart eldercare landscape: government policy, intergenerational technical support, compatibility, and cost. This study employed a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design. A questionnaire of older adults aged 60 and above with prior smart-home experience (N = 421) was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).
