In this study, THP-1 cells were sent to outer space aboard the Chinese Shenzhou VIII spacecraft, and mutant strains with high expression of the target genes were screened after 17 days of spaceflight. Then, RNA sequencing was used to identify the differences in gene expression between space and ground samples.
