4th phase county plan for Uusimaa

Situation after 24 September 2021: Only the wind power solution (four areas suitable for wind power production and the local wind power planning recommendation, which remains partly in force) and the labelling of Natura 2000 sites and nature reserves are valid from the 4th phase county plan for Uusimaa. The objective of Uusimaa’s fourth phase regional plan is to support sustainable competitiveness and well-being in Uusimaa. Land use choices also contribute to the objectives of the Uusimaa Programme. The plan was approved by the Uusimaa Regional Council on 24 May 2017. On 21 August 2017, the Provincial Government decided that the plan would enter into force before it became final. The regional plan has now entered into force, as it has been announced in the municipalities belonging to the regional plan. The fourth plan is more strategic than the previous regional plans. It complements and revises the existing regional plans for the following themes: •industry and innovation •logistics •wind power •green structure •cultural environments The solutions will ensure the competitiveness of Uusimaa and the operating conditions of business life far into the future, as well as support the well-being of the people of Uusimaa and the vitality of the county. The plan also identifies significant regional logistics areas and transversal connections needed by logistics to Central Uusimaa. In addition, potential provincial wind power areas will be identified. In order to safeguard biodiversity and ecosystem services, the plan identifies a regional network of green areas and their connections, for example as nature reserves and recreation areas. The plan also identifies cultural environments of great value in the region. In addition to these, the plan covers other topical topics, such as Malmi Airport and new station areas on the main line, Tuusula Ristikytö and Hyvinkää Palopuro. The plan covers the entire territory of 26 municipalities in the county, with the exception of the Östersundom area, where a separate plan is drawn up.
