Global Monthly Burned Area Fraction Data at 0.25-degree Resolution (2001–2024)

This dataset provides monthly global burned area fraction at 0.25° resolution, covering January 2001 to December 2024. It was generated by aggregating the MODIS MCD64A1 Burned Area Monthly Global 500m (Collection 6.1) dataset from Google Earth Engine (https://developers.google.com/earth-engine/datasets/catalog/MODIS_061_MCD64A1). The burned area fraction for each 0.25° grid cell is calculated using area-weighted average, representing the proportion of land surface affected by fires within each grid cell. Data are provided in GeoTIFF (.tif) and NetCDF (.nc) formats for compatibility with GIS tools and climate models.
