Annotation Curation Tool Metadata - Collection Seed List

This data was extracted in July 2023 from the target records stored in the W3 Annotation Curation Tool (ACT), the curation software used to manage the metadata associated with archiving websites. It contains all the metadata records stored in ACT. The UK Web Archive started to use ACT to facilitate curatorial tasks, including adding metadata information, specifying how often a website should be ‘crawled’ (or captured) for the archive, checking the quality of captures, and seeking publishers’ permission to provide open access to selected sites when the Non-Print Legal Deposit Regulations 2013 were implemented. ACT was developed as a curatorial tool to help scale up the preservation of the UK web space in line with the new regulations. The previous curation tools used were PANDAS and Web Curator Tool. There are a number of records exported from ACT that were originally created in one of these legacy systems and migrated into ACT.
