Copper is an essential micronutrient for plants. The effects of high levels of copper sulfate on indirect regeneration of one inbred line and two cultivars of cucumber using cotyledon explants were assessed. An optimized regeneration system is required to address different biotechnological approaches in this species, such as large-scale multiplication, as well as genome editing and genetic transformation techniques for functional genomics and genetic improvement.
