THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE LABOR MARKET AND YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

Artificial intelligence (AI) is now part of everyday economic life, and it is changing how people find, keep and lose jobs. This paper studies how AI changes the labor market in general and youth employment in particular, with a case study of Uzbekistan. It uses a detailed method based on academic research, international reports and Uzbek sources. The paper finds that AI does not simply destroy jobs. Instead, it moves work away from routine tasks and toward digital, analytical and human skills. For Uzbekistan, where most people are young, this is both a chance and a risk. The paper concludes by proposing better education, workforce retraining, and stronger links between universities and companies.
