Development and Validation of a New Patient-Reported Outcome Measure for Pain in Women with Pelvic Floor Disorders

Women with pelvic floor disorders may experience pain following pelvic floor surgery. This thesis develops a new pain questionnaire for women undergoing procedures to treat pelvic floor disorders. There are quality of life questionnaires to assess pain, but currently, none specifically examine pain relating to pelvic floor disorders post-surgery. This thesis demonstrates that the new pain questionnaire can help track pain-related health issues in women, and assist with the decision-making process between patients, clinicians and other health providers after pelvic floor surgery.
