This project investigates the transcriptional impact of sclerotium formation in the slime molds Physarum polycephalum and Physarum rigidum. RNA-Seq was performed on plasmodial samples before and after sclerotium formation and reactivation. Comparative analyses revealed that sclerotia preserve transcriptional stability, supporting their use as a reliable strategy for long-term preservation of myxomycetes in molecular research.
