This dataset contains (1) 2D2C velocity fields around spheres sinking in dispersions of xanthan gum (XG) in distilled water (2) shear and extensional rheological characteristics of these non-Newtonian dispersions. Experiments comprised two test solutions containing 0.75 and 1.25 g/L of XG. The settling of three types of spheres was examined in a settling column using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV).
本数据集包含两类内容:(1)黄原胶(xanthan gum,XG)于蒸馏水配制的分散体系中,下沉球体周围的二维二分量速度场;(2)该类非牛顿分散体系的剪切流变特性与拉伸流变特性。实验采用两种测试溶液,其黄原胶浓度分别为0.75 g/L与1.25 g/L。研究借助粒子图像测速法(Particle Image Velocimetry,PIV)在沉降柱内对三类球体的沉降行为进行了观测。
