Freshwater green microalgae of inland waters in southern Norway: species identification and fatty acid profile

Chlorophyta microalgae were isolated from Norsjø and Tårntjernet located in Vestfold and Telemark county in Norway. Isolates were identified by morphological observation and phylogenetic analysis using 18S rDNA-ITS1-5.8S rDNA sequences. Their growth and fatty acid profiles were studied under 14-day batch cultivation in a laboratory.
