资源简介:
This project comprises monthly groundwater level monitoring at eight wells located in the Northern Golden Gate Estates (NGGE) to supplement the Picayune Strand restoration project (PSRP) monitoring effort. Eight monitoring wells were drilled, analyzed and installed near the Faka Union No. 4 Water Control Structure (WCS) in October 2008. Each well site consists of one four-inch diameter well drilled to a depth of approximately 40 feet or less below land surface. Wells are operated and maintained by USGS staff, and water level data is collected monthly. This monitoring project is associated with the hydrogeologic evaluation of the surface water/water table aquifer interaction and the effects of this interaction on the surficial water table aquifer within the area adjacent to the Faka Union No. 4 WCS. The project will also evaluate potential effects resulting from the PSRP project before, during and after restoration of the historic hydrologic regime. The Faka Union No. 4 groundwater monitoring dataset is associated with a locally managed USGS water database. Surface water, groundwater and water quality data are compiled from these local, distributed databases into a national information system. The groundwater database contains records from approximately 850,000 wells that have been compiled during the course of groundwater hydrology studies over the past 100 years. Information from these wells is served via the Internet through NWISWeb, the National Water Information System Web Interface, which provides all USGS groundwater data that are approved for public release. More information regarding these databases can be found on the following websites: http://groundwaterwatch.usgs.gov and http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/ The Faka Union No. 4 dataset was downloaded via the NWISWeb. Field code information was obtained via the NWISWeb (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/help?codes_help) and the following publication: User's Manual For the National Water Information System of the U.S. Geological Survey. Ground-Water Site Inventory System. U.S. Geological Survey. Open-File Report 2004-1238, Version 4.3.
