Service Request: Help assess the impact of the May-June 2016 flooding, through post-disaster situation analyses, on the agricultural sector within the vast Centre – Val-de-Loire area of interest. During the episode some areas experienced the worst flooding in 100 years. The activation covers mapping the event, damage grading and economic impact focusing on agriculture sector to provide direct support in public policy implementation by the Ministry of Agriculture.Proposed solution and results:Model maximum flood extent and flood water depths using EO satellite coverage of the event and Digital Terrain/Surface models.Production of a detailed land use/land cover map to derive an impact analysis, adapted from Theia OSO classification 2016 and using French IGN RGE and European Settlement LayersAssessment of the potential impact on population (INSEE data) and crops using data on farmer declarations (2016)Estimate of economic impact on the main annual crops, using farmer declarations, official production statistics and market prices related to 2016 crops     Maximum flood extent and flood water depthsLand use impact analysis      Agricultural economic impact  <br>
