Global Near Real-Time Temperature and Salinity Profile Data from the GTSPP project from 29 January 2003 to 24 March 2003 (NODC Accession 0000964)

Physical, current, meteorological, and other data were collected from XBT casts, buoys, and other instruments from a World-Wide distribution. Data were collected from 29 January 2003 to 24 March 2003. Data were submitted by the Marine Environmental Data Service (MEDS) in support of the Array for Real-time Geostrophic Oceanography (Argo), the Gulf of Mexico NOAA/NMFS Ship of Opportunity (SOOP), and the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP). Physical parameters include profiles of temperature and salinity. Current parameters include current direction and speed. Meteorological data include dry bulb temperature, wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity, and air pressure.本数据集采集了全球范围内通过投弃式海温探头（Expendable Bathythermograph，XBT）、浮标及其他观测设备获取的物理海洋、海流、气象及其他相关数据。数据采集时段为2003年1月29日至2003年3月24日。本数据集由海洋环境数据服务中心（Marine Environmental Data Service, MEDS）提交，用于支持地转海洋学实时观测阵列（Array for Real-time Geostrophic Oceanography, Argo）、墨西哥湾美国国家海洋和大气管理局/国家海洋渔业局志愿观测船（Ship of Opportunity, SOOP）以及全球温盐观测试点计划（Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project, GTSPP）的相关工作。其中物理海洋参数包含温度与盐度剖面数据；海流参数涵盖海流方向与流速；气象数据则包括干球温度、风速、风向、相对湿度与气压。
