Distance based Sampling Techniques with insects in the grassland and woodlot

The researchers were taken to the woodlot and to the grassland, which are placed in York University’s Keele Campus. At the beginning of the 4-step experiments, 7 bowls that poured with few inches of soapy water were placed in the grassland with 1 meter distance between each bowl. Another 7 bowls that poured with few inches of soapy water were placed in the grassland with the same 1 meter distance between each bowl. After three hours, bowls in the grassland and bowls in the woodlot were checked and number of insects were counted and recorded to the data sheet for each bowl. The species that encountered in each bowl were identified, as well.
