These datasets were based on paraffin skin sections. Red blood cells are often washed out of large subcutaneous vessels as single cells and found lying on slides containing skin sections.3_defense-related_variables.xlsx: mean values of stratum compactum thickness, average minimum diffusion path length/average epidermal thickness, and epidermal thickness for each body region for each individual. This dataset was used for correlation analyses between variables.4_epidermis_and_subepidermal_capillary_variables.xlsx: mean values of epidermal thickness, minimum diffusion path length, perfused subepidermal capillaries per mm epidermis, and average minimum diffusion path length/average epidermal thickness for each body region for each individual.
