The operation Trade index in large stores and food chains (IGSC) provides an indicator of a cyclical nature on the commercial evolution of sales and staff employed in the trade sector in large stores and food chains in the Basque Country. Commercial establishments with a sales area equal to or greater than 2.500 m² are considered to be large areas, while all companies with at least three premises, including large stores if owned, and more than 100 employees, are referred to as food chains. The information is disseminated at the level of historical territory as of 2015.
