Market survey for electronic archiving

This market survey was carried out on behalf of the Ministry of Finance with the aim of collecting information on the current state of electronic archiving and the anticipated future developments in the Finnish public administration. By analysing the situational picture collected in the report, it is possible to obtain background information on customer needs for decision-making and planning through a service on possible national electronic archiving in public administration. The purpose was to find out the current state of storage and archiving of e-government data – including the data and their users, services, processes and information systems – and how will it develop over the next five to ten years, taking into account both temporary and permanent storage of data? Electronic storage means a storage event in electronic form that has passed the active phase of the material or is stored permanently. In common language, electronic archiving is often synonymous with this. The documentation may also include images, audiovisual materials, maps, registers and databases.
