This feature layer is a public view of the data that is used and maintained within a Fire Hydrant Inspections application, which is an ongoing project between Bedford County Fire &amp; Rescue and the Bedford Regional Water Authority (BRWA).</p><p>Most hydrants were originally mapped during an initiative of County-wide E911 addressing field verification. In 2006, most of the fire departements within Bedford County submitted GPS coordinates for the dry hydrants located within thier respective first due boundary. The data was then refreshed by Bedford County GIS staff in another initiatives in the mid 2010's (2013—2016), in which wet and dry hydrants were distinguished. The data is best available.</p>
