In the spring of 2021, Statistics Norway (SSB) conducted the tenth round of the annual survey on drugs. The main purpose of the study is to map the population's use and habits related to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in different groups of the population. The survey will help provide a basis for measures and for the evaluation of substance use policies.
The population consists of all residents of Norway. The sample wasdrawn from people aged 16–79. Because there is a desire to obtain detailed information about young people, an additional sample of 700 individuals aged 16–30 was drawn.
The survey was conducted by SSB in collaboration with the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI). Arnhild Torsteinsen at the Division for Social surveys has been responsible for conducting the survey. Thore Nafstad-Bakke has drawn the sample, and Anne-Kathrine Jernberg has been responsible for programming the questionnaire and preparing the data. Anna-Karin Mevik at theDivision for Methods has been responsible for weighting the data.
