Phase 2 Upland Vegetation Surveys of Wales (1999 - 2008)

This dataset contains both the non-spatial and spatial (GIS) outputs from a vegetation surveys of upland Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) in Wales to National Vegetation Classification (NVC) level. The purpose of this data capture was to provide data on the extent and distribution of vegetation communities in the Welsh uplands for planning, notification and management purposes. Phase 1 level vegetation surveys of around 48 upland sites in Wales. Each site has a dataset which includes a published report, quadrat data tables, maps (most paper maps have been digitised and are available as MapInfo tables and ESRI Feature Classes) and site descriptions.
