This table provides information on the loss and profit account, balance sheet, investments and staffing of groups of companies whose main activity is hospital care, mental health care with overnight stay, disabled care, nursing home care, home care, social care and women’s care and youth care. This concerns both public and privately funded enterprise groups. As of 2015, the former AWBZ care is funded by other laws: Long-term care Act (Wlz), the Social Support Act (Wmo) 2015, Zorgverzekeringswet (Zvw) and the Youth Act. As a result, the revenue structure of healthcare institutions has changed and for that reason a new table of figures has been adopted as of the 2015 reporting year. As of 2015, it has also switched to full coverage of the SBI classes considered including privately funded care. These comprehensive data are only available for large and medium-sized enterprises. Furthermore, as of 2015, the day mental health treatment centres have been removed from the population, as they will be taken into account in the table of statistics on care practices together with the practices of psychiatrists in the relevant SBI class. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology The most important source for statistics is the DigiMV database of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), which includes data on income statement, balance sheet and establishment plan. The DigiMV survey is part of the &Annual document Social Responsibility ' and is deposited by healthcare institutions with the CIBG. The DigiMV data is linked to the population of the General Companies Register (ABR) and the institutional register of the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Missing data is manually added using annual accounts deposited on the internet (www.jaarverslagenzorg.nl). If financial statements are not available or the total operating income is very small compared to the total operating income of the entire population, it shall be increased. ### Population (Groups of) enterprises whose main activity is hospital care, mental health care with overnight stay, disability care, nursing home care, home care, social care and women’s care and youth care. Operationally, the (group of) company(s) is defined as the most comprehensive set of legal entities that can be controlled in the Netherlands. A group of companies is also referred to as a group of companies. The enterprise groups are classified by main economic activity in accordance with the Standard Business Classification (SBI) 2008. This is a so-called institutional approach which takes into account all the ancillary activities of the groups of undertakings considered. Year-on-year developments in finance and staff are partly influenced by population changes. Changes in the main activity, creations and removals lead to changes in the population of enterprise groups. Mergers, acquisitions and divisions can also result in changes in the population. The population includes only large and medium-sized enterprises, the limit has been drawn to enterprises that have at least one business unit with more than 10 employees, or operating income of more than EUR 700,000 or total assets exceeding EUR 350,000. Missing large or medium-sized enterprises were preferably imputed and otherwise incorporated into the increase.
