The genome sequencing project for Trichiurus japonicus (beltfish) utilized highly precise whole-genome shotgun (WGS) methods. This genome was assembled using PacBio, Nanopore long reads, and Illumina HiFi, Hi-C, 10x reads employing various tools, such as HiFiasm, SALSA2, LOCLA, and Canu. The chromosome-level assembled draft genome measures approximately 1.14 GB, is organized into 184 scaffolds, and has an N50 value exceeding 47 MB.
