Transcription of the unpublished Annual Reports of the India Office Library 1916-50

India Office Records and Private Papers: MSS Eur F303/60, Annual Reports (1916-1950). This file is a transcription of the unpublished Annual Reports of the India Office Library 1916- 50. These reports were printed, except in the case of the report of 1930-31, which appears only in handwritten draft form. There are no reports present between 1930-31 and 1935-36 due to the financial constraints of the Library. Original Authors of the Annual Reports: Frederick William Thomas (1867-1956), Charles Ambrose Storey (1888–1968), Herbert Niel Randle (1880–1973), Stanley Cecil Sutton (1907-1977). The reports in Mss Eur F303/60 contain additional pen and pencil annotations which mostly describe India Office departmental references supplementary to the original record. To distinguish these annotations from the printed original text, they have been written in the following format: [annot: ‘_’] This transcription has been created from the copy held in India Office Records & Private Papers at the British Library. The transcription was completed using Transkribus, an AI text recognition software for historical documents. It has been manually reviewed, formatted, and checked for errors; however, some errors may still remain in the text. All original spellings have been retained from the original volume.
