资源简介:
This dataset contains de-identified demographic and professional registration information for 4,185 chiropractors registered to practice in Ontario, Canada, between 1996 and 2007. The data were obtained from the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO) and subsequently verified against publicly available membership directories to ensure accuracy and completeness . The dataset was compiled to support a longitudinal analysis examining the intended and unintended consequences of the delisting of chiropractic services from the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. The dataset includes five core variables describing practitioner characteristics and professional status over time: year of graduation, school of graduation, sex, registration status, and geographic location. Registration status reflects practitioner activity levels and has been harmonized into three categories (active, inactive, and retired) from the original classifications provided by the CCO. Geographic information, originally recorded as postal codes, has been converted into Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) regions to preserve analytical value while ensuring participant anonymity . All variables were separated into individual files and linked through anonymized identifiers to further enhance confidentiality protections. The dataset does not include outcome variables or analytical results but provides the foundational demographic and structural information used for longitudinal analyses, including workforce dynamics, retention, and regional distribution of chiropractors.
