Survey and analysis of spatial organizations deriving from the metropolization process of the Region of Maringá

Abstract Brazil’s quick urbanization process has generated demand for urban planning, mainly in metropolitan areas strongly characterized by social and spatial differences. In this study, we identify territory organization patterns of the Metropolitan Region of Maringá, related to institutional, political and functional aspects, based on the systematization of current studies developed by institutes and academic entities. We compared the studies, mapped information and organized indicators, aiming to contribute to and subsidize the implementation of the regional and metropolitan integrated planning in the sphere of the Metropolis Statute.
