Neighbourhood Greenway

Neighbourhood Greenways are small-scale, local connections for pedestrians and cyclists that respond to local needs identified by a neighbourhood. They improve existing connections and open spaces and are typically no larger than one city block. Neighbourhood Greenways can be located on closed portions of streets and/or underutilized boulevards. Serve as important community gathering places that promote neighbourhood livability, urban greening, and social interaction. They also reflect local identity and unique character of the area Neighbourhood Greenway projects are initiated by local residents and community groups. The City, with assistance and input from the community, will lead the design, development and construction of Neighbourhood Greenways. The community is expected to take the lead in maintaining the space once completed.社区绿道（Neighbourhood Greenways）是服务行人与骑行者的小型本地连通设施，旨在响应社区所明确的本地需求。其可优化现有连通路径与开放空间，规模通常不超过一个城市街区。社区绿道可设置于已封闭的城市路段，或未充分利用的林荫大道之上。这类绿道可作为重要的社区集会场所，助力提升社区宜居性、推动城市绿化建设并促进社会互动，同时亦能彰显当地的身份特色与区域独特风貌。社区绿道项目由本地居民与社区团体发起，市政府将在社区的协助与建言下主导绿道的设计、开发与建设工作；待项目完工后，社区应承担起该空间的日常维护主体责任。
