Long-read sequencing of disease model mouse strains established in Japan

The purpose of this project is to upgrade genome information by long-read sequencing for inbred mouse strains of disease models that have been deposited at the NBRP core facility of experimental animal mice (RIKEN BRC) and distributed from the facility. The target strains to be analyzed are five inbred strains (FLS, NC, STR, JF1 and MSM). This sequencing project will enable de novo assembling of long-read sequence data and construct an "accurate genomic sequence" without depending on the reference sequence. The obtained data will be deposited to DDBJ and also released from MoG+ (https://molossinus.brc.riken.jp/mogplus/). This sequencing project will also provide useful information to all users, such as the research community for the disease and genomic variations in human populations.
