Data from: Community science photographs reveal substantial variation in vegetative phenological responses to climate change

This dataset comprises community science records for nine Populus species from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). These records were obtained from three community science datasets: research-grade iNaturalist (https://doi.org/10.15468/dl.dhpfss), Pl@ntNet (https://doi.org/10.15468/dl.uytujh), and Observation.org (https://doi.org/10.15468/dl.wrxw9k), with annotatations for seven phenophases and associated climate data from TerraClimate. Attached code estimates onset and offset of leaf phenology using the R package phenesse on annotated observations, extracts climatic variables from TerraClimate, runs analyses and visualizations on the processed and filtered data, and compares NPN observations with the processed and filtered data
