GENICE II Program

GENICE II is a multidisciplinary research project based out of the Centre for Earth Observation Science (CEOS) at the University of Manitoba and made possible with the help of our many collaborators and partners. It is a continuation of the original GENICE project. Through collaboration between our different research activities, we aim to use large-scale genomics to address the most credible oil spill threats in the Arctic by using actual shipping incidents as operational scenarios, providing a framework for addressing these risks in a way that communities, governmental agencies, and shipping and mining industries can learn from and plan for.GENICE Ⅱ是一项多学科研究项目，依托曼尼托巴大学地球观测科学中心（Centre for Earth Observation Science, CEOS）开展，本项目的顺利实施离不开众多合作者与合作伙伴的鼎力支持，其为初代GENICE项目的延续。通过整合各研究活动间的协同协作，本项目旨在借助大规模基因组学技术，以真实航运事故作为实操场景，应对北极地区最具现实威胁的溢油风险；同时构建一套可供社区、政府机构、航运与矿业行业借鉴并用于风险应对规划的标准化框架。
