资源简介:
Xylella fastidiosa (Xf), a gram-negative bacterial pathogen that causes disease on numerous economically relevant hosts (e.g., grape, almond, olive, citrus, coffee, and blueberry), is divided into several subspecies. Pierce’s disease (PD) of grape (Vitis vinifera) is caused by Xf subsp. fastidiosa strains, whereas bacterial leaf scorch (BLS) of blueberry (Vaccinium sp.) is caused by Xf subsp. multiplex strains; however, some subsp. fastidiosa originating from Georgia are capable of inducing BLS symptoms on blueberry cv. Rebel after artificial inoculation and maintenance under greenhouse conditions. The genome of Xf subsp. fastidiosa strain Bakersfield-1 was sequenced as part of a project to assess the capability of California PD-causing strains to cause disease on blueberry.
