Supporting videos for PhD thesis - Solid-liquid impact in thermal equilibrium

This dataset contains the experimental video recordings (in .avi or .mp4 format) for the data presented in the PhD thesis entitled 'Solid-liquid impact in thermal equilibrium'. This experimental work investigates the role of phase change on the impact loads upon the impact of a circular disc onto a liquid that is in thermal equilibrium with its own vapour. High-speed imaging with the total internal reflection technique is adopted to study the dynamics of the entrapped vapour pocket under the disc. A detailed description (in .pdf format) for each video can be found in the zipped dataset.
