TEC dataset: TEC_ISEE_2020_2024_0_23_LT.zip The number indicates the local time of annual mean TEC values in each file. 0_year_avg.nc, 1_year_avg.nc, 2_year_avg.nc, 3_year_avg.nc, 4_year_avg.nc, 5_year_avg.nc, 6_year_avg.nc, 7_year_avg.nc, 8_year_avg.nc, 9_year_avg.nc, 10_year_avg.nc, 11_year_avg.nc, 12_year_avg.nc, 13_year_avg.nc, 14_year_avg.nc, 15_year_avg.nc, 16_year_avg.nc, 17_year_avg.nc, 18_year_avg.nc, 19_year_avg.nc, 20_year_avg.nc, 21_year_avg.nc, 22_year_avg.nc, 23_year_avg.nc Filtered processed GNSS-TEC database distributed by the Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research (ISEE) at Nagoya University, period 2000–2024. The TEC dataset is provided in hourly files with a spatial resolution of 0.5° × 0.5° in latitude and longitude, and a temporal resolution of 5 minutes available at https://stdb2.isee.nagoya-u.ac.jp/GPS/GPS-TEC/GLOBAL/ The filtered applied to this data set consists of: (1) Data outside the range 0–200 TECU is eliminated. (2) Computation of hourly means (3) Resampling of spatial grid to 1° × 1° by averaging each 2 × 2 block of pixels. (4) For each Universal Time (UT), we extracted only the 15-degree longitude bands corresponding to a specific Local Time (LT), merging the slices into daily matrices only with the local time desired. (5) Estimation of monthly medians each grid point for each local time. (6) Estimation of annual means. This represents a 99.994% reduction of the original dataset. This follows from keeping only 1 grid point out of every 4 in the original grid, which gives. 100 x [1-(25 x 24)/(4 x 25 x 365 x 24 x 12)] = 99.994% From an initial volume of 2,600 GB, the processed dataset was reduced to 150 MB.
