Simulation of single component jet in a crossflow

An in-house second order accurate finite-volume code “Chem3D” is used for simulation. The domain of interest is a rectangular box representing the ocean body with an oil-plume discharge at the bottom. A Large-eddy simulation (LES) technique has been used to model the turbulence; this approach directly simulates the large energy carrying flow structures and models the smaller dissipative scales. The numerical implementation has been validated and verified for a large number of cases involving turbulence. The data set provides the geometry coordinates used for modeling, time-averaged velocity field, temperature field and pressure field. Figure 1 shows the non-dimensional time averaged velocity contour on the symmetry plane of the domain. Figure 2 shows the validation of the center line jet trajectory with experiments.
本研究采用自研二阶精度有限体积代码"Chem3D"开展模拟计算。计算域为表征海洋水体的矩形箱体,其底部设置油羽流排放源。本研究采用大涡模拟(Large-eddy simulation, LES)技术进行湍流建模:该方法可直接模拟携带能量的大尺度流动结构,并对小尺度耗散尺度进行建模。本数值实施方案已通过大量湍流相关算例完成验证与校核。本数据集包含建模所用的几何坐标、时间平均速度场、温度场与压力场。图1展示了计算域对称面上的无量纲时间平均速度等值线分布。图2将射流中心线轨迹与实验结果进行了对比验证。
