VPRS 18543 Heads of School and Executive Committee

This series consists of the minutes of the Heads of School / Executive Committee of the Preston Institute of Technology (VA 1212) from 1974 to 1981, and briefly of the Phillip Institute of Technology (VA 1052) in 1982. The Committee changed its name twice during its existence; from Heads of School Committee to Executive Committee in February 1976, and then back to Heads of School Committee in April 1979. The Executive Committee reported to the Academic Board and was composed of senior members of the Preston Technical Institute, including the Principal, Vice Principal, and the Heads of Schools.The Committee met weekly and consider both academic and administrative matters. Matters discussed included staffing, expenditure, facilities, services, equipment and budgets. It also dealt with matters arriving from the Academic Board and offered advice and recommendations to the Board.
