Observed Methane Emissions from Rice Paddies Across Various Rice Varieties Worldwide

Data were retrieved from peer-reviewed journal articles and theses in Web of Science, Google Scholar, and the China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI). All data retrieved meet the following criteria: (i) both grain yield and CH4 emission were reported; (ii) at least three varieties were involved in a certain year at the same site; (iii) the experimental treatments had replicates. When necessary, the raw data were extracted by digitizing graphs using the GetData Graph Digitizer v. 2.24 (free software at http://getdata-graph-digitizer.com/). Ultimately, we collected 450 datasets meeting the above criteria, encompassing 298 varieties across 40 sites. These data were sourced from 46 publications, 77% of which were published between 2010 and 2024.
