The study of motility often focuses on flagella and chemotaxis genes. Here the full suite of genes used by the rhizosphere bacteria Pseudomonas protegens Pf-5 for swimming and swarming is examined. The use of a TraDIS saturation transposon mutant library of Pf-5 has allowed for the simultaneous examination of all genes in the genome needed for fitness during swimming and swarming.
